Robert Pattinson & Emilie De Ravin on "The View"

The morning after their madcap red carpet New York “Remember Me” premiere and a late-night afterparty with Kristen Stewart at the Plaza Hotel, Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin hauled themselves out of bed to chat with the ladies of “The View” on Tuesday (March 2).

Pattinson, in a gray suit, and de Ravin, in a short black skirt and a sleeveless blouse, discussed sex scenes, their characters and the things they regret about certain interviews.

Pattinson’s Tyler Hawkins is something of a lost soul, struggling to find his place in New York after a family tragedy. The 23-year-old Brit said he related to that feeling of youthful confusion. “I think everyone feels lost. I think the good thing about the story is accepting being lost,” he said, going on to speak about his early struggles as an actor and how he almost quit the profession. “When you haven’t trained to be an actor and you haven’t spent your whole life going into it, and then you’re doing auditions and then not getting them, and you’re like, ‘Well, what am I doing? If I’m not getting parts, then I’m not an actor,’ ” he said. “That’s how I was judging it.”

Pattinson talked about how nervous he was while filming the movie’s sex scenes. “I don’t why,” he said, before asking his co-star for her opinion. “Do you know why? You just seemed really comfortable with it.”

“I don’t think you seemed nervous,” de Ravin answered. “I don’t know what you’re on about.”

Nor did Pattinson know what was going on with a recent Details interview in which he joked about being “allergic to vagina.”

“I learned two things from that interview,” he said on “The View.” “One thing, never try and make jokes in interviews, and the other thing is just, like, never do interviews ever.”

Accompanied to the set by his mom, uncle and two sisters, Pattinson did crack a number of jokes throughout the two segments, none more successful than his answer to the question of whether he’d ever date an older woman.

“I think Betty White is one of the sexiest women in America!” he said.
